Rome is an incredibly beautiful city full of works of art at every turn. From the B&B, more or less in just a few steps, you can see a monument or a squer, and walking among the captivating sculptures, you will get a birds eye view observing the ancient Roman streets. In this post, we will explain why the location of our Bed and Breakfast, Gli Artisti is truly comfortable and how to visit all of historic Rome on foot. So here it is, our favorite itinerary, the one i do ( Alessandro) when i want to walk around my magnificent city.

A full day walking in Rome from the B&B Gli Artisti ,to enjoy our historic center.

Almost immediately, only a few steps away for our B&B, you will arrive at Piazza Risorgimento. From here, you take Via di Porta Angelica where you will enter Via Borgo Pio,a typical Roman street. This street will bring you directly to Castle Saint Angelo where you can walk across the bridge of Saint Angelo crossing the Tiber river, to arrive in the Jewish Ghetto. This area is one of the most ancient areas in central Rome, and from here, we suggest that you lose yourselves in the typical Roman streets until you wind up at Piazza Navona.

After admiring all the fountains and magnificent buildings of Piazza Navona, there is still more to discover, Campo dei Fiori, The Pantheon, The Trevi Fountain and The Spanish Steps.

Saint Peter Cathedral and Sant’Angelo Castel

A few steps away from our Bed and Breakfast you will find the Saint Peter cathedral and the Vatican museums. Here, you can admire the marvelous frescoes of Raffaello and Michelangelo, and an exceptional collection of art d’oeuvre gathered by the Popes along the centuries. Walking along the Via della Conciliazione (The Street of conciliation) coasting the Tevere, the mythical river that always accompanies life in Rome, you will reach Sant’Angelo Castle.

From Rome Fiumicino airport

The fastest way to reach our Bed and Breakfast from Roma Fiumicino airport is to take the Leonardo Express train that reaches Roma Termini in 30 minutes. There is a train leaving every 30 minutes between 6:36 am and 11:36 pm. A one-way fare costs € 15,00.

From Ciampino and Fiumicino by bus

From both airports, there are other economic solutions that you could use to get to your destinations, but beware that given the traffic in Rome, leave yourself ample time.

Bus Shuttle: Both from Fiumicino and Ciampino you arrive at Rome Termini ( only for Fiumicino there is the shuttle.

Instead that leaves you are Viale Crescenzio, as said above) Terravision: A bus that goes in both directions for Rome Termini. If you book online you can save 2,00 euro, otherwise the cost each way is 4,00 euro purchased online. If you buy the one way ticket on the bus, it will be 6,00 euro. the same for the return trip.
